It's not very often that we hear the sounds of galloping hooves, jingling spurs and yodeling cowboys on television these days. Gone are the thrilling serialized cowboy westerns which began as movies in the '30s and rode over to television in the '40s and '50s, starring rough and tumble heroes like Gene Autry, The Lone Ranger, Annie Oakley, Zorro and scores of others. The people at Cowboypal.com strive to keep the legends alive, by creating a site dedicated to yesterday's western heroes, both well known and well forgotten. The site features links to official and fan-created websites, a well-maintained Q&A section, episode guides, vintage photos, and video and audio clips. Cowboypal.com has done a pretty admirable job transferring the old film and audio clips and sprinkling them around the site, considering the deteriorated quality of the originals. After spending an hour or so at Cowboypal.com, chance are you'll be brushing the dust off your clothes, out of your hair and suppressing the urge to shout a hardy "giddyup"!
