Two drugs will be studied for their ability to prevent the development of the cancer: tamoxifen, which cut the rate of breast cancer among at-risk women by 49%, and raloxifene, a drug the FDA approved for the treatment of osteoporosis with a side effect of reducing the rate of breast cancer. Though the study is planned for a ten-year period, results that the investigators determine to be clinically significant will be published along the way. Tue, 16 Nov 1999 13:35:03 -0800
