Artificial Life In The UK

Site: http://tdg.linst.ac.uk/technosphere/index.htm

The clever guys at Technosphere have created a 3-D virtual world where you can create a creature and set it free to roam the land and do what creatures do best: eat, sleep and do-the-nasty. Each creature you create is made from various body parts: heads, bodies, wheels, and eyes. It is this combination of attributes that makes or breaks your bug. Since all creatures are "multi-sexual," old-fashioned pronouns such as "he" or "she" are meaningless here. Sound familiar? You can then name your offspring, which will bound about the surface of its artificial habitat, graze or hunt, sleep and most likely mate like there's no tomorrow. That is, if it hasn't been eaten or starved to death in the mean time. Technosphere provides useful tools to keep an eye on your creation so you can see where it is in relation to the other creatures. Sometimes the "Creature tools" get taken offline, but there's lots of other information you can check out about the Technosphere habitat and the creatures themselves.
