Top » Books & LiteratureA Poetry-Lover's Guide To the World-Wide WebSite: http://www.serve.com/Lucius/PLG.index.htmlHow do we define a poet? Some say it is the artist's ability to squeeze a wide range of emotions and feelings into a minimal number of words. Others point to the ability to master such poetic devices as metaphor, imagery, meter, and/or rhyme scheme. Unfortunately, the answer to this question is not so simple that we can fit it into a few lines for the poetry novice to understand. The debate rages on, but for now, it is best left to the works of the masters to define the art form. Lucius Furious' page is an excellent place to find the major works which have helped define the world of poetry, as well as some contemporary additions to it. He divides his collection into two major categories. The first contains pre-1950 works, in which you will find some significant works by some very famous names. In the second collection, post-1950, there are some well-known writers as well as some not so famous. And if you can't find the poem you're looking for, check his links page.
