Andrew Goldman's interview with Karenna Gore Schiff, Al Gore's 26-year-old daughter, discusses the growing role that Schiff is playing in her father's campaign. In addition to becoming more involved in Gore's strategy sessions, Schiff is "taking it upon herself to ... make [Gore] seem more real, more human"--in other words, making an effort to compensate for the lack of personality that many feel to be one of Gore's most significant flaws as a presidential candidate. As Goldman presents her, Schiff is intelligent, charismatic, and gifted with a "good ear" for politics. Her developing role in the oncoming campaign will be an interesting one to watch.
