Although this site is still under construction, I was mightily impressed, and wish whoever is doing this great job goes on to finish it fast. Check under "Regions" to find information about specific wine-producing areas. (At the moment, only three French wine regions--Bordeaux, Champagne and Beaujolais--are presented in detail, with many more from around the world scheduled to be up soon.) These regional details include history, type of grapes used and the winemaking process particular to the locale. Another part of the site offers really useful information about storing and enjoying wine (including guidelines on the important, but often neglected, subject of the proper serving temperature for a variety of wines of different origin and colors). The "Wine Resources" links are terrific, and don't miss the "Post-a-Toast" section at http://www.intowine.com/wine-toasts.html , where you'll find some real gems to try out at your next party.
