Enrico Fermi?) imprinted the periodic table of the elements into my brain. My schoolmates quickly grew tired of my scientific obsessions. Now, at age 60, still searching, my every waking thought asks: where in the cosmos is the the neutrino, the thing that could tie down the soaring theories of gravity and particle physics? This delicious page feeds some of my insatiable hunger. Here's a quote: "Can a subatomic particle change its identity like a shape-shifter in a science fiction movie? If the particle, the neutrino, indeed oscillates among the three possible 'flavors,' it means that neutrinos have a small mass that may account for some of the missing mass in the universe." Some scientists don't believe in the existence of neutrinos! Read this article about scientists who do, and see what you think. Tue, 16 Nov 1999 13:35:03 -0800
