Power Pop For Now People

Back in the seventies, when terms for music were being coined by the dozen ("punk," "new wave," "classic rock," etc.), a pop-flavored offshoot of new wave was dubbed "power pop." If you're not sure what power pop is, think early Beatles, Who, Badfinger, Nick Lowe, the Records, the Replacements, the Knack, Cheap Trick, etc. This site, titled the Power Pop Music News, is an obvious labor of love (pun intended) run by a Mr. Don Krider, where you can learn about power pop purveyors like legendary icon Eric Carmen's Raspberries, through Material Issue and Jellyfish, up to current keepers of the faith like Fastball and Tal Bachman. From News to Reviews, anyone who's ever turned the radio up loud, rolled down the windows, and sang along to "Go All The Way" or "Good Girls Don't" will enjoy this powerfully poppy site.
