High-Fat Diet Doesn't Affect Cancer Survival Rate

Site: http://www.mediconsult.com/mc/mcsite.nsf/condition/fitness~resea

Recent research from Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Cambridge Hospital, and Harvard School of Public Health in Massachusetts showed that women following a low-fat diet after being diagnosed with breast cancer did not seem to survive longer than those eating a diet higher in fat. Protein, however, was associated with an increased survival rate: Women who ate a diet high in protein from poultry, fish and dairy sources lived longer than women who did not. We all know that we can’t change our eating habits based on the results of one study, but this certainly gives us something to think about ... perhaps fat is not the "root of all evil," and protein is more valuable than we’ve previously thought.
