Maverick: First Car of the 70's

If you grew up in the 1970's, you no doubt remember the Ford Maverick. Introduced in 1969 (soon after the debut of the flashier Ford Mustang), this muscular All-American roadster was billed by its makers as a small car--and marketed using cowboy and prairie iconography. This site contains a brief history of the model and also features several classic Maverick print ads.
