What will the Latest Telecom Merger Cost You?

According to CNN, AT&T didn't try to claim Sprint because the FCC would never approve it. WorldCom has been steadily increasing in size, offering intense competition. The general public fears that the WorldCom/Sprint merger will increase the price of long distance by reducing competition. Yet this article predicts that the Bell companies will be re-entering the arena, which should drive prices down. As a Telecom agent, this writer fears that service will suffer as WorldCom ruins another company. I predict that prices will continue to fall, but new and better services will be added. CNN concludes that it would be a bad call for companies to start raising phone rates.
