The racetrack at Monza enjoys a special place in the hearts of all racing fans, but is especially revered by followers of Formula One. The recent decision by town planners to demolish the banked section of the high-speed oval has prompted an unprecedented online campaign to save it. "For the sake of future generations we must preserve the memories, the ghosts," writes the proprietor of this page. There is, as one might expect, an e-mail petition that will be sent to the mayor of Monza requesting that the historic banking be preserved.
