Boasting over a half a million members, BOATUS is the largest organization of recreational boaters in the U.S. The association's extensive website provides a wealth of information and services of interest to boaters, including a free value check if you plan on selling your vessel, a chat room where you can gab with your fellow mariners, even free nautical e-cards you can pop off to friends and family. There's also a directory of the most popular boat names chosen each year (the 1999 favorite: Misty). You don't have to be a member of BOATUS to browse the site, but by joining the association you can enjoy additional benefits not provided to the non-member.
