Do you know about Knowsley?

If we must have animals in captivity, then surely the best place for them (outside a park in their natural habitat) is in one of the many "Safari Parks" around the world. Whilst the major locations are well promoted, there is a little-known park on the outskirts of Merseyside in the U.K. that compares very favorably with its larger competitors. When discovered, its existence often comes as a surprise--even to some of the local community! Being relatively smaller (although with substantial acreage), there is far less commercialism, and it has an impressive breeding program. On the downside, there aren't too many "fairground" supplemental attractions, but perhaps that too is one of the better aspects--far more leisurely and peaceful.
