RacePacket's website provides the most thorough calendar of running events available anywhere for the Washington, D.C., area. Runners can also register online with a credit card. Race Packet also posts race results and records, and has information on the 50 Plus Club. While you're at the site, be sure to check out the terrific list of links for national and international marathons; inline skating pages; walking, swimming, and triathalon sites, and much more. In terms of design, the first screen brings up a single box which invokes a second screen with three boxes, which invokes a third screen with a very slow .gif file--all this before any content appears. The delay is needless and I hope RacePacket will change it someday.
