Top » Politics & GovernmentKeyes to Bush: You Fail My Litmus TestSite: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/bluesky_keyes/19990618_xcake_why_buWell, potential Presidental Candidate Alan Keyes has thrown down the gauntlet at George W. Bush. Keyes Complains of Bush's decision to not put a pro-life litmus test on Supreme Court Justices. Keyes points out that Democrats have put a pro-abortion litmus test on judges, why shouldn't pro-life Republicans do the same? He goes on to state that Bush is not serious on this issue and is another Bill Clinton, governing by polls. Keyes also argues that early polls about Bush are deceptive and that the media is trying to get Republicans to once again back a moderate who stands for nothing and that we will find after Bush has been nominated, that his poll numbers have dropped. Religious Conservatives are getting tired of nominating so-so moderates they don't really like with the hope that they will win, but who then go on to lose the election. Moderates are getting tired of losing and blaming it on the Religious Right. Could this signal a beginning of a Religious Conservative withdrawl from the Republican Party? It is a prospect most party leaders seem to view as unlikely, and to not to be too concerned about. Well, perhaps they ought to be. Thu, 16 Mar 2000 07:30:56 -0800
