Buchanan Charges Bush Trying to Rig Primaries

Pat Buchanan says that the party establishment is trying every trick in the book to annoint George Bush as their nominee. And Buchanan may be on to something. Pat Buchanan Reports that Bush is trying to eliminate all the straw polls nationwide. These straw polls are widely unpredictable and usually won by Conservatives in the Republican Party. According to reports, Bush tried to get Iowa to eliminate its straw poll, which many campaigns have put a great deal into winning. A win by Bush would be expected. A win by Keyes, Alexander, or Buchanan would gain them Millions in Free Advertising across network news, and the Bush Campaign would face questions about its organization ability and mistakes Bush made by not getting in soon enough. Buchanan is also disturbed by unspecified restructuring of the Louisiana Caucus, plus the change of Michigan from a proportional above 15% state to a winner take all state by Bush supporter Governor John Engler.
