Even the most dedicated scholar of William Faulkner occasionally needs a little help keeping all the names straight. This hypertext glossary of people, places, and events in the Mississippi writer's fictional world should help you keep all your Benbows, Bundrens, and Sutpens straight. Just be warned: the links within links can turn a simple search into an hour-long exploration. I clicked on "Boon Hogganbeck," for example, and got a background paragraph on the character that included 14 other links. And Boon only appeared in three of Faulkner's books. Makes you wonder how the author himself kept it all straight.
