The roots of gospel music go back in time, back to the sounds of camp meetings and tents and childen and laughter. I have nothing against the new-wave rap and rock gospel sounds, yet I am for the original sound, like bisquits and fried chicken with Mom's apple pie. When it comes to good old southern gospel music, this site has it all. Like the song says, "I want to go back to the good old days. I want to go back in time. I want to go back to the campmeeting grounds where salvation was found, didn't cost a dime". The music might be a bit "happy" loud at times--a different loud than rock, contemporary, or the latest rap gospel--but the message is clear. The music still shouts the "old time religion," and that's good enough for me. Its sound is unchanged and the message remains the same today, yesterday, and always, filling the soul with God's love like Mom's apple pie fills the belly!
