FROM SMALL BEGINNINGS

Site: http://www.cyberdata.com.au/currumbin/cshomepg.html

Way back in 1946, a man started feeding the local parrots because they were eating his flowers. Over the years, his property gradually evolved into a wildlife refuge, and today it has its own animal hospital and education center, staffed by wildlife specialists. If you are lucky enough to visit Currumbin, you will see thousands of wild, multi-coloured parrots which come sweeping in twice a day for a handout. You can get up close and personal by feeding them some specially prepared parrot mix. In addition to the birds, you can see crocodiles, koalas and other Aussie wildlife. The virtual tour of this sanctuary is covered on this website.
