CGI Programming 101 is a good place to begin if you're a novice at CGI. The first 6 of the 20 chapters of the course are fully available to you online; for the remainder, you need to get the book. Still, if you're interesting in learning CGI programming, it is a good start; you try it out for free and learn along the way. Later, you make an informed decision about whether you want to proceed with the course. Can't ask for more from a trial offer!
