For better or worse, Court TV was the first to bring us live coverage of court proceedings on a regular basis. The cable channel's website, CourtTV.com, offers what is probably the best source of news on current legal cases--at least the racier ones. The site benefits from regular updates, from both wire sources and its own reporters, on cases of interest both in the U.S. and around the world. In addition to the updates, the site offers in-depth information not always available at general-interest news sources, like background on the principals and even the full text of the pleadings in some cases. Of course, you can also find plenty of information about Court TV's on air programs. More interesting, however, is the site's collection of "Famous Wiils," featuring last wills of such celebrities as John F. Kennedy Jr., Jerry Garcia, and others. Overall, this site is a good companion to the cable channel, and stands on its own as the web's top source of legal news.
