Creatures on the Edge of Science

Although most of us have long since given up believing in dragons and unicorns, there is still that slight twinge of doubt in our minds about certain other species. Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, the chupacabra.... Are they real? Mythical? Based partly on fact and partly on nonsense? So far, no conclusive proof of the existence of such things has been offered; but neither is there any proof that they do NOT exist--and that is the general attitude of this website. Unfortunately, much of the cryptozoological literature available today is either of the sensationalist tabloid type ("My wife ran off with Bigfoot and they took my credit cards")or totally close-minded ("I've never seen a sea serpent, therefore there cannot possibly be any"). This site is a refreshing exception: it is written with logical analysis of what slim evidence exists, and personal opinions are kept to a minimum. For those who are just beginning to develop an interest in what may or may not be found hidden away in the world's rapidly-shrinking wildernesses, this site is an excellent introduction.
