Is DSL Being Embraced?

Digital Subscriber Lines (DSL) will be a $2 billion-dollar industry by 2003 according to Amy Harris of IDC.com. This will probably happen about the same time that people get fed up with slow, crowded service and are ready for something else. My money won't be part of the above projection since I'm too far away from the central office--a common complaint among many who don't live on mountains or cow pastures. Either way, everyone is hungry for cheap bandwidth, and this two- to three-year temporary solution will help technology move towards bigger, better, and cheaper "guaranteed" internet service. Can you say "cable modem"?
