Sometimes, at the end of long session of scouring the online newspages, you need a good laugh. That's where The Onion comes in. If you haven't heard about this site by now, you don't know what you've been missing. The term "news parody" hardly does this blisteringly funny site justice, since so many leaden parody sites clutter up the Web already. This here's the gold standard, decked out like the front page of a newspaper whose headlines ("Jesus 'Really Dreading' This Next Birthday," "Clinton Blows Entire Paycheck") barely hint at the jaundiced content to follow. Check out the freshly-expanded "A.V. Club" as well for interviews, multimedia features, and associated nonsense. For a news junkie, this should rank with the Times and the Post on your required reading list.
