EruoGames VII - Zurich 2000

The first EuroGames (sort of a gay Olympics) of the new millennium will be held in Zurich, Switzerland, from June 1-4, 2000. Four thousand people are expected to visit "the little big gay and lesbian city in the middle of Europe" to participate in sports competitions and an extensive cultural program. This informative site provides registration information, offers a rundown of all the events, and even gives information on how to get tickets for the numerous parties and competitions. There are sections devoted especially to women and people with disabilities or special health conditions; information about a photo competition; and a section on "Queer May," in which various cinema houses, theaters, museums, and art galleries will stage mini-festivals, performances, concerts, and exhibitions focusing on the contribution of gays in culture and sports. In addition, the site offers a place to advertise your teammate and housing needs while you are in Zurich (or to offer a place to stay); a chat room; media information; and a complete rundown of the EuroGames' organization.
