Top » Art & ArchitectureCan You Learn Photography Online?Site: http://www.88.com/exposure/Websites to help you learn photography are rare. One nice exception is about that beginner’s bane and professional’s pain: EXPOSURE. It covers the basics of f-stops and shutter speeds. There you’ll find a cool tool, (ta-da!) The “SIM-CAM” exposure simulator. It shows you a scene and invites you to apply different lens openings and shutter speeds to it, starting from a given light meter reading. Then it shows your results. It’s good enough to simulate blur from movement and even out-of-focus backgrounds from a large lens opening. Not a bad place to start, and it even fulfills one of my teaching axioms: “Learning is most effective if it’s more fun than other things you could be doing.” Tue, 16 Nov 1999 13:35:03 -0800
