I Love Mail!

I love mail! I love mail! I love mail! I'm not talking about email--I'm talking about old-school mail, "snail" mail. I'm talking about the stuff that has to be weighed to be sent. That's why I jumped for joy when I read that the United States Postal Service has, once again, posted profits. To be exact, $363 million in profits for 1999. Five years of profit, and it still costs a mere 33 cents to mail a correspondence across the country, with no raises in postage planned for the immediate future. This is a prime example of a government agency that does work. The postal service receives no tax money at all and posts a profit annually (albeit a small profit). Most importantly, it gives this country an amazing service at an affordable price.
