Top » Art & ArchitectureIs Your Monitor Showing You the Real Picture?Site: http://www.mindspring.com/~woharris/cal.htmWe online fine art photographers worry about the “gamma” of both our viewer’s monitors and of our own. We adjust our own monitors to the “average viewer’s monitor gamma,” but that won’t be correct for every viewer – so you might want to learn about gamma and check your monitor at the “Monitor Calibration” site. Your monitor’s “gamma” setting adjusts for deviations between the picture you feed it and what it shows you. Gamma can differ between monitor brands, but is especially different between different types of PCs, like between Windows/Intel machines, Unix PCs and the Apple Macintosh.
