Stop Spam

Site: http://www.suespammers.org

An annoying, sometimes infuriating byproduct of the digital revolution is spam. Spam is generally defined as "bulk, unsolicited e-mail" and is usually used to promote any number of dubious products, services, and causes. Beyond mere annoyance, spam also causes technical problems. It makes e-mail run slower and can cause systems to crash. Because of these problems, several states have enacted anti-spam laws. To learn about these laws, visit suespammers.org. This site catalogs the existing state laws on e-mail abuse (there is no federal law yet). More importantly, the site offers a step-by-step guide to bringing the offending spammers to justice. There are articles by attorneys, professors, and people who have succeeded in suing under the new anti-spam laws. The site also offers a forum and email list, where you can share your opinion, or just learn from what others have to say. While many internet service providers are taking steps to curb spam on their systems, this site is a great resource for people who are still suffering from spam.
