Simple Backyard Solar Engine?

Site: http://www.amasci.com/freenrg/minto.html

Anyone interested in clean, cheap, low maintainance, and easily-generated power will enjoy this site. Although The Minot Solar Wheel was invented more than 20 years ago, this website detailing its theory, construction, and operation is more timely today than ever before. Once touted by its inventor as a solution for third-world countries needing a cheap way to pump water and mill grain, this device may well be practical for some small-scale applications here in the United States. Built from cheap and easily-obtainable materials, the simple and rugged device could conceivably run for decades with little or no maintainance. The design and construction is so rudimentary that college engineering students and even knowledgeable home experimenters could conceivably make design improvements to the wheel--thus boosting its efficiency and performance. A must-read for students, engineers, would-be experimenters, or anyone wanting a greater degree of energy self-sufficiency.
