Cookie jar collector's tips

Site: http://homearts.com/depts/home/58cook21.htm

There's one thing I like more than homemade cookies--and that's collecting the antique jars designed to hold them. But with all the different kinds out there--not to mention lots of bogus reproductions--it's hard to know what to look for when you're out prowling the flea markets. This great article from HomeArts.com, however, is packed with info for anyone who prefers the jars to the cookies. Beginning with a bit of cookie-jar history, the article moves on to talk about the best manufacturers (ever wonder where the term "real McCoy" came from?), pricing, chips (cookies: yes, jars: no), and last but not least, how to avoid getting stuck with fraud jars. If you aren't a collector already, viewing the great photos at this site may get you started--check it out!
