Decision on Internet Taxes Postponed

In an effort to thoroughly examine the issues, the Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce decided in its meeting in San Francisco this week not to decide just yet about what it will recommend to Congress in April 2000. While the committee members are leaning toward not recommending an e-commerce tax, they are considering all sides of the issue, including the concerns of local governments who are losing their sales tax revenue to Internet transactions. If you are involved in e-commerce at any level, this is required reading.
