Deaf and hard of hearing

Do you have hearing problems or know someone that does? Being disabled in this area doesn't stop the need or desire for a relationship. In fact, in many ways the need for a relationship is even stronger, but communication issues get in the way. How does a hearing person communicate with a deaf person on the telephone? How do you ask a deaf woman out on a date if she can't hear you and you don't know sign language? The obstacles can be huge, and in reading the forum letters, I saw many deaf people had not yet found an answer to that question.
