Philip K. Dick? If this name doesn’t ring a bell with you, how about the movie BladeRunner, which was based on his novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?", or Total Recall, based on his "We Can Remember It For Your Wholesale." P.K. Dick was a prolific writer, and several of his remarkable novels have been made into movies. Most likely the next one of his you see will be "A Scanner Darkly," which will be developed at Universal Studios by Danny Devito's Jersey Films.
