SINGLE DOWNLOADS LEAD TO CD SALES

Will digital downloads of free MP3s hurt CD sales? That, my friends, is the multi-billion dollar question. According to a "pre-wave" study conducted by Media Mogul and Centris, digital downloads may actually increase the likelyhood of a retail sale. "Just under 50% of these respondents indicate that sampling a digital audio 'single' increases their likelihood of purchasing the packaged CD via the web, and more than half (55%) indicate that sampling of singles increases their likelihood of going to a retail store to purchase the CD."
