Wild Horse and Burro Adoption

In 1971, Congress gave the Bureau of Land Management was given the difficult job of managing the wild horses and burros who roam the rugged open spaces of the public lands in the United States. Part of the management process involves reducing the herds in order to better administer the lands. The Wild Horse and Burro Adoption centers sort and classify these animals, then put them on display.
