Don't be dissuaded by the wacky marquee lettering on the intro page--what TransRap may lack in graphic sophistication it makes up for in incredible global hip-hop resources. It's true, America was rap's birthplace, but if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, hip-hop superstars' heads would get even bigger if they knew how active other artists are laying down their own tracks all over the world. Enter the site, click on the region you're interested in, then choose a specific country. You'll get a list of artists, links to hip-hop sites, and audio/video clips as well. Unless you're already in on the Croatian rap scene or you've memorized the Japanese version of "Shakkattack," you'll be surprised.
