So much for those not-so-secret on-ramps to the information superhighway: as of Tuesday, the ACLU sued the federal government for coercing artist Mike Zieper and his web host, Mark Weiger, to take one of Zieper’s artworks off the Net. "Military Takeover of New York City," a video depicting "a New Year’s Eve military coup in Times Square," was judged worthy of censorship by several governmental branches, including the FBI. However the ACLU, and numerous staunch Zieper supporters, do not agree. While the FBI wipes the egg off its face, it now has to endure the chagrin of delivering Zieper his full 15 minute of stardom, and then some. Who guards the guardians? We do.
