All Java Open Source App Server

Lutris Technologies has given a great boost to the application server industry by creating an all-Java application server called Enhydra. Along with web-based administration of servlets and web applications, it provides a rich framework to build web apps on. Perhaps the greatest advantage of enhydra is it's XMLC technology, which is, so far as I have seen, the best implementation of separating presentation from business logic. By using open standard technology such as the DOM, XML, HTML, etc., it enables you to manipulate the presentation flexibly to a standard API (the standard DOM Java mapping). The open-source nature of the project will keep the features and capabilities tightly in line with users' needs. The creators have already announced that they are moving Enhydra closer to a J2EE platform. Enhydra is already powering some big sites, and the usage list will continue to grow.
