The First Flight

This site is dedicated to the Wright brother's success in 1903 at controlled, powered flight. Its goal is to shed light on the scientific experiments that led to that first flight and the development of the aerofoil. Find out the importance of Cayley's "whirling arm" of 1804 and of Lilenthal's experiment of 1871.
