do you radonneur?

Site: http://www.bgcycling.org/BRM/English/index.html

That's super-long distance timed cycling events, for those who don't speak French. The granddaddy of randonees is Paris-Brest-Paris, in which participants ride about 1200 km (750 miles) in 3 or 4 days. Surprisingly, most are not racers. The Randonneur Info web page contains a wealth of information, including a calendar of qualifying rides (brevets), helpful links and mailing lists, and, most entertainingly, a "stories" section, where you can find out exactly what it's like to ride all night, be cheered on by hoardes of French spectators, stop for a big bowl of café in a village, then nap in a field when you're tired. Start training now and you could make the next P-B-P in 2003!
