Top » Music: Gospel & ChristianThe Weatherfords' LegacySite: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Prairie/6093/map.htmlThe Weatherfords are one of the oldest gospel groups still traveling with their original members. Those that stand the test of time are actually the foundation stones of all gospel music. In the early years, the Weatherfords sang on gospel radio, and when radio went into canned music, they found themselves without a contract. The Weatherfords moved to Akron to perform on a Christian TV show, and for a time were a part of that ministry, but their hearts were motivated to traveling and singing for the Lord. During the '60s and '70s they traveled the country. In 1992, Earl Weatherford, group's patriarch, died on tour of heart failure where it all began, in concert in southern California. Now there is just a trio, and you can find out, at this site, everything about the threesome: History & Biography, Awards, Performance Schedule and more. It's a wonderful way to get to know these singular gospel performers. Wed, 29 Dec 1999 06:23:52 -0800 Submitted by: Martha Miranda Miller
