The Real y2k threat

Site: http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/tech/1999/dec/29/12290

No, it's not the fabled "Y2K bug" that those TV talking heads keep chattering about. The real threat to your site this New Year's is posed by hackers looking to feed off of Y2K hysteria. As this report from the Las Vegas sun points out, webmasters would be wise to be on guard for hacker activity and other breaches of security from now until the dawn of the new millennium. The fear of hackers flooding their sites with too much traffic or using other means to gum up the works has already prompted some major players, like eBay, to suspend operations until after the ball drops. But by then we'll all be living in caves and running from packs of mutant cyborgs anyway, won't we?
