Sick of Capitalism?

Now here's an act of political protest I can really get behind. The self-described "champagne anarchist" group Decadent Action stages an annual World Phone In Sick Day each April. The mass worker sick-out is just a small part of the group's stated agenda "to destroy the capitalist system by a leisurely campaign of good living and overspending." You can learn all about the sick-out, and the organization, here at its home page. Click on "Texts" to read Decadent Action's manifesto, or catch up on its newsletter. "Press" calls up recent UK and U.S. articles about the group, while "Links" escorts you to other fun-loving anarchist websites, including something called "Santarchy in the U.S.A." ( http://www.santarchy.com/ ), a group of brawling, drunken Santas who prowl downtown San Francisco at Christmastime. Dang! And I opted for Palm Beach this year instead!
