Who's more foolish, the fool?

Or the fool who follows the fool? Off-line reporters seeking the answer to Celera Genomic's meteoric rise this month should have taken the hint and beaten a path to The Motley Fool website, where they would have found the answer in short order. The popular investing site did the biotech company an enormous favor by announcing it's intent to purchase Celera shares in mid-December--an act which accounted for at least a sizeable fraction of the huge leap in price and trading volume that followed soon after. But the real point of interest is the fact that off-line media had no idea that the Internet was in any way connected with the price surge.
