THE BIBLE: THE BOOK THAT BRIDGES THE MILLENNIA

"Encountering the Bible is a lifelong, dynamic process in which this Bible becomes the word of God for each of us as we discover its relevance and wonder in our own lives and in our own times." So says "The Bible: The Book That Bridges the Millennia." Created by the United Methodist Women, it features text, graphics, video and external links. The Site explores where Bible came from, how was it decided which books were included, how the message has spread, and how it has influenced history. There are also links to related modern topics in the missions field, including refugee issues, and other issues of interest to the UMW and Christians in general. Check out the online videos--one is a fascinating look at interpretive dance, The Moving Word. It features a "how-to" approach to using movement among beginners and experienced dancers. The site also has a coordinated study for youth of the same material. Visitors to the site can order optional books of the study.
