Since Sunday is stepfather's day, I wanted to see what kind of support was out there for these guys. The answer is plenty, but Stepdads.com was the most user-friendly site I saw. If you've ever wondered how to keep a stepparent from turning into one more piece of furniture, this is your stop. The articles hit home with realistic talk about the tough problems: getting the cold shoulder from the kids, dealing with an angry ex-spouse, the question of dicipline, etc.. There's a quarterly newsletter called "Super Dudes," plus an e-mail mentor program for more regular contact with others in the same situation. The tips list is good for anyone who is in a blended family, so this site is not just for men. If you're a stepfather or the mother of children with a stepfather, check this out. The statistics say that 1 out of every 3 Americans is living in a stepfamily. You won't feel alone again.
