Top » Telecommunicationsbaby bell prevails over mamaSite: http://www.msnbc.com/news/353261.asp#BODYHistory was made when the FCC approved Bell Atlantic's request to become the first regional provider to offer long distance service. And now, the company can seek to fulfill its ambition, as the obstacle that AT&T and Covad Communications hoped would stymie the plans have recently been denied in court. The reasons for AT&T's appeal were found to be insufficient, and now the companies will have to "take it outside." Bell Atlantic's plans are well-detailed in this article by Brock N. Meeks. It is also mentioned that this victory does not mean it will be easier for other regional companies to do the same. We'll see. Thu, 16 Mar 2000 07:42:28 -0800 Submitted by: Allison Conner
