The Velvet Underground Web Page

Site: http://members.aol.com/olandem/vu.html

This is easily the most extensive fan website that I've ever seen. This site doesn't rely on slick graphics, but instead provides top-notch content on the Velvet Underground, the band that was directly responsible for the Proto-Punk, Punk, New Wave, Post-Punk, Goth, Heavy Metal and Alternative movements. The site offers a plethora of information on the band and its various members (Lou Reed, John Cale, Maureen "Moe" Tucker, the late Sterling Morrison, the late Angus MacLise, Doug Yule, and the band's mentor, the late Andy Warhol). Also, you can find RealAudio clips, and the site follows the history of the band from BEFORE its beginning to the present day, and is constantly updated. Included are Discographies, Biographies, Film and Video Archives, information on Live Performances and Rehearsals, Articles, Interviews, a Photo Gallery, and so much more. The link page alone would be a great site. If you want to know where Modern Rock started, start here. If you are a fan of any type of rock music made after 1960, you owe it to yourself to take a look. This is a truly incredible site.
